WLRN Fact Sheet

Public Television: WLRN Channel 17
WLRN-TV has crafted a program schedule reflecting the interests, attitudes, and lifestyles of South Floridians through a wide variety of local and national PBS productions. With its weekly program line-up of all kids, all day, WLRN has become the most-watched kids’ station in the state of Florida. This program commitment to children all day has made WLRN the leading Ready to Learn (RTL) station in the state as well.

RTL is an early childhood education program that provides parents and caregivers, in agencies and at home, with the training, resources and support they need to make sure the children in their care are ready to learn when they enter school. The RTL service builds on the popularity of PBS children’s programs and increases their educational value by helping adults use public television as a proven tool for educating their children.

WLRN-TV presents the
best of the PBS nationally recognized series to compliment locally produced specials. Our prime time programming features an array of cultural, informational, arts, science and documentary specials to address the curiosity and interests of our local community.

Since September 2003, ArtStreet, our locally produced profile of local artists and cultural events has joined local and national productions including memorable performances, thought-provoking documentaries, and the very best of the PBS signature series on science, exploration, and contemporary issues.
